Kylie Minogue was the queen of dance pop in the 90s and early 2000s — when she released “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head” in 2001, she became an international hit thanks to the catchy beats and lyrics. And true Kylie fans from back in the day also can’t forget “The Loco-motion,” which was her debut in 1987.
Since then, she’s been dropping hits and topping the charts, and while she’s still active in the music scene, she hasn’t been in the headlines as much as she did in the past. But don’t get us wrong — the underestimated pop superstar might not have the same daring antics as Madonna or Mariah, but she’s still just as fascinating and has endured over the years. Today, she’s still releasing albums, going on tour, and earning accolades. Here’s where Kylie Minogue is today.
She’s still making music and TV appearances
In 2018, Kylie released the album “Golden.” Then, in 2020, she came out with her 15th studio album, “Disco,” which was recorded in her home studio during the pandemic. Beyond making her music, she’s also been a judge on shows like The Voice and, in 2025, made a cameo as herself on the Netflix mystery show “The Residence.”
She earned a Guinness World Record after her 2020 album
In November 2020, after Disco became yet another chart-topper, Kylie Minogue became the “first woman to top the album chart in each of five consecutive decades,” based on The Guardian’s reporting. Her achievement was even acknowledged by the Guinness World Records! In The Guardian story, the reporter noted that Kylie has topped the charts from the 1980s to the 2020s, and the only singer with more number one hits is Madonna.
She made a royal appearance in 2018 and had a Glastonbury debut in 2019
In 2018, Kylie Minogue was invited to perform for Queen Elizabeth’s birthday alongside celebs like Shaggy and Sting. She also debuted at Glastonbury the following year, which was supposedly one of the most well-viewed performances in the history of the famous festival. Many thought this was due to the fact that she had to cancel her Glastonbury appearance 5 years prior when she received a harrowing breast cancer diagnosis.

A Christmas TV special
Dubbed “Kylie’s Secret Night,” this 2019 TV special was released for Christmas and was the perfect combination of festive and fabulous. The audience initially believed the event would be a fan gathering centered around Kylie, but they were surprised to find otherwise! They would be spending an evening with the pop star herself, who would have heartfelt chats, stunts, and memorable performances.
She’s launched Kylie Minogue Wines
It’s not unusual for celebrities to get into the booze game, and Kylie decided to join the party when she partnered with London-based distributor Benchmark Drinks to create her own wine line, selling over a million bottles in under a year. Bestsellers in the collection include a refreshing Sauvignon Blanc, a more full-bodied Merlot, and an Organic Brut Reserva Cava that’s described as “dry and crisp.”
The Tension Tour
Kylie released the album Tension (her sixteenth) in 2023, and it earned her a Grammy for the track “Padam Padam.” Her follow-up album was released the following year in 2024 and received strong praise from both critics and fans, so much so that she’s embarking on the Tension Tour across Mexico, South America, and other locations. On tour, she’s still breaking records, becoming the first female solo artist to perform 21 times at The O₂ Arena. This proves that even though Kylie is in her 50s, she’s still connecting with new generations and is as relevant as ever.
Honored with a BRITs Global Icon Award
Kylie received a BRIT Global Icon Award at the 2024 BRIT Awards ceremony. She performed some of her most popular hits, and the award was presented by Dua Lipa, who called Kylie the “eternal queen of pop.” This award is the highest accolade from the BRIT Awards, and previous winners include Elton John and David Bowie.
